Born in Moscow in 1966.
Graduated with honors in 1989 from the Applied Space Science Department at the Moscow Institute of Geodesy, Aerial Photography and Cartography.
In 2008-2009 honed his business acumen at INSEAD in Paris.
He has earned a Ph.D. in Economics.
Fluent in English and German.
In 1989 Kazinets turned his sights to the construction industry, founding Barkli Corporation in 1993. The company has been a constant force within Moscow, revitalizing 300 homes and heritage historic sites while acting as primary investor-developer for over 30 projects from the ground up.
In 2006 Kazinets earned the distinction of Honored Builder of Russia.
Socio-political activity:
• Chairman of the Expert Council under the Government of the Russian Federation on pricing in the construction industry
• Advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak
• From September of 2011 – Co-Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Self-Regulation in the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs
• Vice-Chairman of the Public Board under the Ministry for Regional Development, legislative and methodical support
Leonid Kazinets has been repeatedly bestowed with honors and diplomas from the Government of the Russian Federation and the Moscow City Government. He is a candidate master of mountain climbing and yachting, an international master of parachute jumping, a multiple champion in parachute jumping in Russia and the World Cup, and also takes interest in the combat sport “Kudo”. He is twice-listed in the Guinness Book of Records for accomplishments in sports.
